Cooper University Health Care in the US has officially completed its previously announced merger with Cape Regional Health System, marking a significant expansion of healthcare services in Cape May County, effective 1 July 2024.

The integration includes renaming Cape Regional Medical Center to Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional.

Additionally, urgent care centres and multiple outpatient facilities provide primary and speciality care, wound care, radiology, laboratory services, and physical therapy across the county.

The merger proposal, first announced in December 2022, advanced with the execution of a definitive agreement in April 2023.

The New Jersey Superior Court of Cape May County granted final regulatory approval on 28 May 2024, allowing the transaction to be completed.
