Danish healthcare technology company Corti is to partner with US-based non-profit health system Tanner Health and its subsidiary Healthliant Ventures.
The partners aim to improve medical coding, an important but complex aspect of healthcare that often causes errors and billing delays, as well as reduce administrative tasks and increase billing precision.
Corti plans to integrate its advanced artificial intelligence (AI) platform into healthcare systems as part of the collaboration.
Corti CEO and co-founder Andreas Cleve said: “Healthcare professionals spend nearly 34% of their time on documentation. Our mission is to change that.
“Corti’s AI, built over eight years of research and trained on over 100 million patient interactions, is specifically designed for healthcare.
“We’ve tailored it to meet the industry’s high standards, and now Tanner Health will benefit from this precision and trust.”

By GlobalDataThe partnership will allow Tanner Health to concentrate more on patient care rather than paperwork.
Unlike general-purpose models, Corti’s healthcare-specific language model (LLM) is tailored for healthcare and provides the necessary transparency.
Healthcare professionals at Tanner will be able to understand and validate Corti AI’s coding recommendations.
Tanner’s solutions are currently used in more than three million patient interactions each year.
Corti chief technology officer and co-founder Lars Maaløe said: “Trust is key. LLMs are only as good as the data they’re trained on, and Corti is trained exclusively on healthcare interactions.
“We’re focused on transparency and testing, so our AI complements healthcare professionals, rather than replacing their expertise.”
By reducing coding errors and accelerating billing processes, Corti will also help Tanner Health lower the rate of insurance claim denials.
The AI integration will start in emergency departments, with plans to extend across other departments in the future.
Founded in 2016, Corti aims to create intelligent systems that reduce the burdens of triaging, note-taking, coding and quality assurance.
