Covenant Health and Urgent Care Group (UCG) have announced a joint venture called Covenant Health Urgent Care, aimed at offering accessible and affordable urgent care services in Knoxville and East Tennessee.

These urgent care centres will operate from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, offering a range of services, including X-ray imaging, lab services, Covid-19 testing, and treatment for various illnesses and injuries.

The first Covenant Health Urgent Care centre will be in Covenant Health South, which is a newly built medical facility in South Knoxville.

This facility will also house primary care, cardiology, women’s health, imaging, rehabilitation, and other specialty services.

Covenant Health president and CEO Jim VanderSteeg said: “Covenant Health’s strategy continues to focus on providing the right care at the right time and place for the people of our region, and the focus to expand convenient care is another investment to that end.

“We are committed to being a trusted, valued health partner, which is why Covenant Health is entering the Urgent Care space.”

With the addition of Covenant Health, UCG’s network now includes 55 centres operating under various brand names across multiple states, including East Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Missouri.

Urgent Care Group David Maloney CEO said: “Urgent Care Group looks forward to collaborating with Covenant Health to provide convenient and affordable urgent care services to East Tennessee, seven days per week,”

“We are pleased to expand the delivery of high-quality urgent care to our home state of Tennessee.”
