The New South Wales (NSW) Government in Australia has revealed the latest designs for the A$95m ($63m) redevelopment of Temora Health Service.
The project will include a new health service building with an improved arrival area and integration with the surrounding landscape.
This redevelopment will aid in ensuring that the Temora Health Service continues to offer emergency department services and modern inpatient amenities for various patient needs. They include medical, surgical, rehabilitation, palliative care, and maternity services.
Additionally, the new facilities will offer perioperative services for surgery and procedures, medical imaging, community and allied health services, ambulatory clinics, and various support services.
The redevelopment works also include upgrading the car parking facilities for patients, staff as well as visitors, along with separate entries for emergency and service vehicles.
The design process has been informed by extensive consultations with healthcare professionals, staff, patients, Aboriginal community representatives, and the Local Health Advisory Committee.

By GlobalDataConsultation for the project’s design will continue throughout the year with the subsequent design stage anticipated to focus on interior furnishings, fittings, equipment, art, and landscape.
The timeline for construction will be established after planning approvals are obtained and a building contractor is appointed, the government noted.
The construction process will be strategically phased to minimise disruption to patients and their carers.
NSW Health Minister Ryan Park said: “The NSW Government will invest a further A$15m in the Temora Health Service build as part of the 2024-25 State Budget, bringing the total investment in the redevelopment to $95m.
“Feedback from the local community throughout the planning and design process for the new Temora Hospital has been extremely valuable in shaping the redevelopment to ensure it meets the region’s unique health needs.
“The hospital’s design has a strong Connection to Country, with light-filled spaces, alongside direct access to outdoor areas and improved landscaping which will create a welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff.”
The latest development comes after the NSW Government unveiled A$35.1bn ($23.1bn) investment under the 2024-25 Budget to overhaul the state’s health system.
