The UAE-based Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) has pledged to provide around AED15m ($4.08m) to the Al Jalila Foundation to support the development of a cancer care hospital.

The Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital is set to be Dubai’s first fully fledged cancer care facility.

The investment is part of DIB’s efforts to support community health and the advancement of medical infrastructure in the region.

The funds from DIB will enable an integrated cancer care model to be implemented at the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital.

Scheduled to open in 2026, the hospital aims to combine primary care with new cancer treatments, enabling earlier detection and intervention to improve patient outcomes.

The hospital will feature a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including specialised cancer nurses, to provide a comprehensive range of services.
