The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has launched the new ‘Mental Wealth Framework’, a strategic initiative designed to bolster the mental health of the residents.

The framework, which is being delivered with an investment of Dh105m ($28.5m), encompasses a total of ten initiatives to be rolled out over the next five years.

It forms part of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which aims to foster a proactive social system and improved health infrastructure that aligns with global standards.

The framework has been endorsed by UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, and Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

It seeks to establish a comprehensive model of mental health care, focusing on early detection, intervention, improvement, and prevention.

The framework is designed to serve all societal segments, with special initiatives for early identification of mental and emotional health factors.

It emphasises providing quality care, support, and counselling to enhance psychological well-being and community stability.

Another key aspect of the framework is its attention to the educational sector, empowering school personnel and parents to nurture students’ psychological resilience.

The initiative further aims to elevate satisfaction and happiness levels among community members.

Promoting research and innovation is another strategic goal of the framework, reflecting Dubai’s commitment to evidence-based decision-making.

Studies will be conducted to monitor and improve psychological and community stability, with a focus on vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, people of determination, and those with chronic illnesses.

DHA has confirmed collaboration with relevant entities and community members to utilise all available resources to realise the objectives of the framework.

DHA director-general Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi said: “Guided by the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, Dubai continues to advance across various fields and strengthen its status as a leading global city and community of the future.”
