Family Care Center has announced the launch of a new outpatient clinic in Tampa, US aimed at improving the accessibility of integrated mental health care for the local community, including Veterans in Hillsborough County.

The new facility, strategically located just off I-275, is set to offer a blend of in-person and virtual appointments to cater to the diverse needs of patients.

Outpatient appointments at the clinic are now made available with psychiatrists, therapists and other mental health professionals.

The clinic’s comprehensive behavioural health services include psychiatric care, talk therapy and the transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) technology, which is an FDA-approved, non-invasive treatment for depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

TMS at the Tampa clinic represents a significant advancement in mental health treatment, offering new hope to individuals who have not responded to conventional therapies and medications.

Family Care Center CEO Wayne Cavanaugh said: “Accessible mental health care is crucial for the well-being of our community.

“At Family Care Center, we’re proud to be in-network with major insurance providers, including TRICARE, making quality treatment affordable and attainable for all.”

The demand for mental health care services is underscored by a survey from Tampa Bay Thrives, which found that 45% of residents in Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk County have expressed a need for emotional or mental health support.

This need is further exacerbated by Florida’s ranking of 46th in access to mental health care, as reported by Mental Health America.

With nearly 30 locations across Florida, Colorado, Tennessee, and Texas, Family Care Center’s expansion is facilitated through a partnership with Revelstoke Capital Partners, highlighting the organisation’s dedication to addressing the growing need for accessible mental health services across the country.

Earlier this month, Family Care Center announced expansion with a new outpatient clinic in Clarksville, Tennessee.
