Forge Health, a provider of outpatient mental health and substance use care, has secured a strategic growth investment from MFO Ventures.

The investment will facilitate the optimisation along with expansion of Forge Health’s care platform, including the integration of nationwide virtual care, service offerings, as well as outreach to underserved populations.

This move is set to bolster the company’s plan to deliver affordable care through advanced digital tools and expanding psycho-oncology services.

Established in 2016, Forge Health aims to offer ‘one-stop-shop’ care to individuals and communities, particularly those with moderate to severe conditions.

The company is in-network with more than 30 health plans and manages more than 300,000 members under its value-based partnership model.

With this investment, Forge Health aims to enhance its population health partnerships and deliver personalised, whole-person care.

In addition, the company operates clinics in several US states, offering both in-person and digital care.

Its care model leverages data analytics, multidisciplinary teams, and streamlined delivery to provide individualised care that concurrently addresses substance use and mental health issues.

The latest strategic investment from MFO Ventures provides Forge Health with the financial resources to fuel its expansion and brings together expertise in value-based care.

Forge Health co-founder and CEO Eric Frieman said: “MFO’s extensive provider-focused experience and success in building transformative companies and driving healthcare innovation make them the perfect partner as we optimise our platform and expand our reach.

“This investment will solidify our position as a market leader and serve as a catalyst for new groundbreaking partnerships.”

The new financing follows Forge Health’s rapid scaling and the introduction of a new psycho-oncology offering in April 2024.

This programme will further provide integrated mental health and substance use support to individuals with cancer, including one-on-one support, virtual appointments, and specialised care for patients and caregivers.

MFO Ventures partner Jeremy Moskow said: “Our partnership with Forge goes much beyond a capital investment. It is about supporting a dedicated and experienced team as they lead the charge in reshaping how behavioural health is perceived and delivered.

“We are excited to bring our experience to this partnership, accelerating Forge’s growth and enhancing their ability to deliver innovative and effective care.”
