Google Cloud has partnered with DeliverHealth, a clinical documentation management company, to transform medical documentation through advanced Gemini 1.5 Pro multimodal artificial intelligence (AI) models.

This collaboration aims to enhance patient-physician interaction. It will see the utilisation of medical vocabulary for speech recognition, which will allow clinicians to document patient care entirely via voice.

The partnership will help in reducing the burden on clinicians, enabling them to focus more on patient care.

Google Cloud India vice president and country MD Bikram Singh Bedi said: “Our collaboration with DeliverHealth is a reflection of our shared commitment towards innovation through the transformative potential of GenAI by automating tedious tasks and improving efficiency and accuracy.”

Gemini 1.5 Pro multimodal AI models are trained on 150,000 hours of human-curated medical audio notes monthly.

The new solution co-developed by DeliverHealth and Google Cloud harnesses natural language processing (NLP) to fully document each patient encounter.

DeliverHealth CEO Sasanka Yellamanchali said: “With Google Cloud’s AI models and our ability to create human-curated medical documentation, clinicians can simply speak and know their words will be accurately transformed into structured, billable documentation.

“This is about more than innovative technology—it’s about giving caregivers more time and peace of mind to focus on what they do best, caring for patients.”

The partnership was announced at the Google Cloud Startup Summit held in Bengaluru on 7 November 2024.

The startup summit also witnessed many other programmes and partnerships to support the growth of AI startups.
