US-based HCA Healthcare has reached an agreement to implement Meditech’s electronic health record (EHR) platform, Meditech Expanse, on a big scale.
The Expanse project, part of HCA’s digital transformation initiative, was taken up under a partnership between Meditech, HCA Healthcare and Meditech ready-certified partner CereCore to deliver an updated technology that improves patient care.
The EHR solution will give HCA caregivers easy access to mobile user interface that is designed to suit their specific workflows.
Integrated advanced solutions such as surveillance feature will enable the clinicians to provide quality care to patients both at bedside and beyond.
Further, Meditech Expanse’s advanced decision support feature is expected to allow HCA Healthcare’s clinicians to improve safety and quality.
The Expanse technology has been designed and developed to offer an intuitive web-based navigation as well as support mobile technology.
At present, HCA Healthcare operates 182 hospitals and nearly 2,300 care facilities across 20 US states and the UK.
Additionally, HCA evaluates data across more than 35 million patient encounters annually and shares best practices across the healthcare community as well as government agencies to promote quality care.
The latest agreement follows over 30 years of long sustained partnership between Meditech and the healthcare system.
In December last year, HCA Healthcare announced plans to deploy Meditech Expanse at its New Hampshire hospital sites.
Earlier this year, health services provider Fraser Health chose MediTECH’s EHR solution to support 32 facilities across British Columbia.
The company planned to implement the solution across its hospitals and hospital-based clinics.
