Health Infrastructure New South Wales has selected Jacobs for designing a new mental health facility in Western Sydney, Australia.
As part of the contract, Jacobs will provide architectural design and health planning services for the new health facility.
The project consists of a ten-storey, contemporary integrated mental health complex (IMHC) in the Westmead Health Precinct.
The A$334m ($224m) project was announced by the New South Wales government last year, with the complex anticipated to open in 2026.
Once completed, the complex will feature acute mental health beds, including beds for older persons, adults, adolescents, and children, as well as people living with eating disorders.
Furthermore, the complex will have sub and non-acute mental health beds, mental health assessment areas, and mental health intensive care and high-dependency units.
