Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital has begun construction work on a paediatric hospital in Florida, US.

Located in Wesley Chapel, the 56-bed hospital aims to provide families in the north of Tampa Bay with easier access to paediatric healthcare services.

The facility will include an Emergency Center with 16 rooms, four operating rooms, an infusion centre, a gastroenterology procedures suite and a sleep laboratory, as well as inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services.

Its second floor will house a 25,000ft² outpatient care centre consisting of 36 rooms.

Johns Hopkins All Children’s president Alicia Schulhof said: “This new project represents our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care closer to home and advancing health in our community.

“The Wesley Chapel hospital will not only enhance our ability to deliver cutting-edge medical treatments, but also foster an environment where patients feel supported, cared for, and respected.

“It will be a space designed with both innovation and compassion at its core—a place where healing happens not just in the body, but in the mind and spirit as well.”

In January, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital opened an outpatient care location in Lutz, Pasco County.

The site offers endocrinology, paediatric cardiology, pulmonology and surgery, as well as diagnostic services such as echocardiograms, Holter monitoring and pulmonary function testing.

Johns Hopkins All Children’s also provides speciality care for patients in western Pasco County at an outpatient location in New Port Richey.

Last year, the practice acquired a maternal-foetal medicine practice in Trinity and began a partnership with HCA Florida Hospital Trinity.

Over the coming months, Johns Hopkins All Children’s plans to establish an OB-GYN practice in Pasco County, with the aim to offer more care services to families along Florida’s west coast.

In January this year, Johns Hopkins Medicine partnered with Caregility in an effort to enhance its digital healthcare capabilities.
