Lifepoint Health in the US has announced the formation of a joint venture (JV) with Ascension Saint Thomas for advancing healthcare in Northern Middle Tennessee.
The JV aims to expand access to quality care and services in the region.
Together, the companies will own Highpoint Health System, which is owned by Lifepoint Health.
The health system includes Sumner Regional Medical Center and Sumner Station in Gallatin, Riverview Regional Medical Center in Carthage, Trousdale Medical Center in Hartsville and more than 15 affiliated clinics and care sites.
Lifepoint Health and Ascension Saint Thomas will collaborate to improve access to speciality care and clinical programmes for patients and communities.

The hospitals and care sites that are part of the JV will be co-branded with Ascension Saint Thomas.
They will be mostly owned and operated by Lifepoint Health.
The Highpoint hospitals will adopt the names of Highpoint Health – Trousdale, Highpoint Health – Sumner, and Highpoint Health – Riverview, going forward.
The latest collaboration is the second JV partnership for the companies.
Ascension Saint Thomas and Lifepoint Health also together own Ascension Saint Thomas Rehabilitation Hospital in Nashville.

In August 2022, Lifepoint Health signed a definitive agreement to acquire a majority ownership interest in behavioural healthcare services provider Springstone’s operating company.
