Lifepoint Health’s business unit Lifepoint Rehabilitation, UW Health, and UnityPoint Health – Meriter are set to construct an inpatient rehabilitation hospital in the greater Madison area in the US.
Located at the southwest corner of Lacy Road and Highway 14 in Fitchburg, the second free-standing hospital will feature 40 all-private rooms and span 58,000ft².
The hospital will offer comprehensive care for adults recovering from serious debilitating illnesses, injuries or conditions such as stroke, neurological diseases, and spinal cord injuries.
Subject to regulatory approvals, the construction of the new rehabilitation hospital is expected to begin in 2025, with the opening projected for 2026.
Once completed, the Fitchburg hospital will become part of Lifepoint Rehabilitation’s extensive network, which includes over 40 inpatient rehabilitation facilities nationwide.
Lifepoint Rehabilitation will oversee the daily operations of the new hospital.
