Marathon Health and Everside Health, two US-based advanced primary care and occupational health services providers, have announced the completion of their merger.
The combined entity, operating under the name Marathon Health, is set to offer comprehensive healthcare services to an expanded patient base of 2.5 million people across the US.

Marathon Health managing director and CEO Dr Jeff Wells and executive chairman Ben Evans will continue their existing leadership roles in the merged company.
Everside Health CEO Chris Miller, who was pivotal in the company’s growth and the merger process, will be leaving to explore new opportunities while still maintaining a significant shareholding of the merged business.
Everside Health said that the merged entity will mainly focus on enhancing access to quality care and improving health outcomes through a value-based care model, aiming to reduce healthcare costs for employer and union partners by more than 25%.

By GlobalDataThe organisation’s data-driven care approach and expansion into various communities aim to provide faster care access, better health outcomes, and increased health equity, especially for those previously underserved by traditional in-person care.
According to Dr Wells, the merger will leverage the strengths of both organisations to innovate and offer more comprehensive healthcare to employees and members.
It is also expected to improve Marathon Health’s ability to attract top business and clinical talent and provide closer local leadership support for clients.
The full integration of Marathon Health and Everside Health is anticipated to be completed within the next 12 months.
Wells added: “The merger of Marathon Health and Everside Health will create a stronger combined organisation even better equipped to build a primary care model designed with patient experience and outcomes in mind.”
