US-based healthcare non-profit MemorialCare has appointed Todd Blake as the chief operating officer (COO) of its Long Beach Medical Center and Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach facilities.

Blake will oversee the planning, development and implementation of programmes and services at the two hospitals.

MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center and Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach CEO Blair Kent said: “We are thrilled to have Todd join the executive leadership team at Long Beach Medical Center and Miller Children’s.

“Not only does Todd have extensive experience in hospital operations, but he has an exceptional talent for building relationships across the teams he works with and a keen sense of leadership that will continue to drive the momentum and growth of MemorialCare in Southern California.”

Blake has been working in the hospital industry for more than 15 years, having served as operations officer at Intermountain Medical Center and COO of Banner Health.

He holds an MBA and a master’s in healthcare administration from the University of Utah and is board certified in healthcare management at the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) as a fellow.

MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach treats more than 14,000 children a year, while the MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center has served patients in its area for more than 100 years.
