MinuteClinic, the medical clinic located within select CVS Pharmacy stores in the US, has rolled out mental health counselling and care services at six locations in the metropolitan area of Los Angeles, California.
As per a recent study carried out by CVS Health and Morning Consult, 74% of respondents aged between 18 and 34 experienced mental health concerns for themselves, families or friends, indicating a rise of 12% as against 2020.
MinuteClinic has appointed licensed mental health providers (LMHPs) at its clinics in Long Beach, Los Angeles, Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside, Santa Clarita and Thousand Oaks.
Individuals aged 18 and above can get mental health evaluations, referrals, counselling and personalised treatment plans at the clinics, either in person or online.
CVS Health vice-president Angela Patterson said: “With the addition of these new services at MinuteClinic, we are now able to offer the community an innovative, convenient approach to managing mental health in easy-to-access locations near where our customers live, work and shop.
“As a leading health solutions company, we continue to prioritise intervention and longitudinal health care. LMHPs are key to our care delivery strategy to provide better access to mental health care in our communities.”
