Munson Healthcare has expanded its services with the opening of the new Advanced Wound Care Center in Cadillac, Michigan, US.
This facility, which serves as an extension of the wound care centre at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, aims to offer accessible services to patients in the Cadillac area.
Devin Rohde from Munson Healthcare said: “Although I come from several hours away, I notice that patients in both my old and new locations face the same healthcare disparities.
“I’m grateful to be part of the solution as we expand Munson Advanced Wound Care Clinic’s outreach into our surrounding communities.”
The Advanced Wound Care Center is focused on treating patients with chronic, non-healing wounds.
Equipped with advanced technology, the centre is staffed by a team of specialists focused on delivering personalised treatments.
Munson Healthcare advanced wound care specialist Desiree Miller said: “We strive to provide high-quality advanced wound care to our Munson-based community in an effort to reach patients that may have limited access to speciality medical services.
“Our goal is to ensure that every patient receives the best possible care tailored to their unique needs.”
Wound care specialists at Munson use a multidisciplinary approach, incorporating therapies.
The services offered encompass debridement, traditional wound care, skin substitute applications, and lab diagnostic testing.
Additionally, the centre concentrates on education and support to patients, encouraging them to actively participate in their healing journey.
It treats a variety of conditions such as non-healing surgical incisions, arterial ulcers, burns, diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, trauma wounds, vascular insufficiency, and venous stasis ulcers.
In the beginning, it will operate on Thursdays from 8 AM to 3 PM, with plans to extend its hours depending on patient demand.
Earlier in the year, Munson Healthcare introduced the Grand Traverse Mental Health Crisis and Access Center, which serves patients of all ages, on the Munson Medical Center campus.
