Children’s Hospital Colorado (Children’s Colorado) in partnership with UCHealth and Memorial Hospital is planning to build a new hospital in north Colorado Springs.
The move is part of Children’s Colorado’s long-term commitment to provide paediatric care to the Colorado Springs community.
The hospital will be built with an investment of $110m on the UCHealth Memorial Hospital North campus in Briargate, according to the Gazette.
Construction on the facility is scheduled to start in the autumn of 2015-16 and is expected to open in 2018.
The new 170,000ft² will feature up to 100 inpatient beds, an emergency room, NICU, operating rooms and paediatric intensive care units.
It will also include paediatric specific design elements to create a healing environment, provide the latest in telehealth technologies to deliver health-related services and information.

The new facility will be served by more than 500 team members, including nearly 40 physician/provider specialists from Children’s Colorado who live and work in the community.
By expanding on its current capabilities in southern Colorado, Children’s Colorado will improve its ability to partner with primary care and other community providers to deliver high-quality care to children and adolescents throughout the community.
Children’s Colorado has a paediatric specialty outpatient clinic at Briargate and Printers Park Therapy Care, as well as Pueblo Therapy Care.
