The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) will form an alliance with Einstein Healthcare Network (Einstein) to offer neonatal, newborn, maternal care, and pediatric emergency services in a location on the Einstein Medical Center Montgomery campus (Einstein Montgomery), in East Norriton, Pennsylvania.
The potential alliance will offer access to Einstein's women's health and maternity care and CHOP's world-class neonatology and pediatric emergency services at one convenient location.
It will allow both CHOP and Einstein to explore opportunities to improve their care to maternal and pediatric patients at Einstein Montgomery.
CHOP president and CEO Madeline Bell said: "We have formed an alliance that will extend the delivery of CHOP's top-rated care to communities surrounding the City of Philadelphia.
"Einstein Medical Center Montgomery has become known for its dedicated and skilled doctors and nurses and we are happy to have CHOP clinicians collaborate with them in their efforts."
The new maternal-children's centre at Einstein Montgomery will offer care to the patients suited to their specific clinical needs.
The alliance will provide improved obstetric, neonatal, newborn and pediatric emergency medical care for people close to home coupled with a continued access to the pediatric specialties at CHOP's main campus in University City in case of emergencies.
The necessary actions to execute the long-term alliance under one roof between CHOP and Einstein are being undertaken.
Chop is expected to start offering their neonatal services at Einstein Montgomery this year.
