The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has announced that construction of the second phase of Dh673m ($183m) Al Jalila Children’s Speciality Hospital has begun.
The DHA has signed an agreement with Al Futtaim Carillion to undertake the second phase of construction of the hospital.
The 200-bed pediatric hospital is built on a sprawling 100,000mt² site within the Al Wasl Hospital campus.
Al Jalila Children’s Speciality Hospital will offer the full spectrum of healthcare for children from newborns to 16-year-olds and will have centres of excellence dedicated to cancer care, cardiology, neurology and mental health.
The hospital will house 40 intensive care units, six dialysis facilities, 20 healing centres, 12 training rooms, eight operating theatres, 30 clinical and non-clinical departments, more than 3,750 biomedical equipment and fixtures and a multipurpose activities room for children.
Construction for the Al Jalila hospital is slated for completion in 26 months.
