Deaconess Health System has selected Availity’s solutions to consolidate all of the hospitals, practices and speciality facilities in its network under one clearinghouse.
As part of its efforts to achieve greater consistency through one vendor, Deaconess has opted for Availity’s clearinghouse and revenue cycle management services for its five Southern Indiana hospitals, 20 primary care locations and several speciality facilities.
For the past five years, Deaconess Health System has been using Availity’s revenue cycle management system for its physician practices.
During the five-year period, Deaconess Health System had acquired several different systems and wanted to achieve greater consistency through one vendor.
Additionally, Deaconess Health System also needed a flexible, scalable solution for its hospitals and practices that also integrated with its enterprise practice management system, Epic.
With Availity’s clearinghouse and revenue cycle management services, the health system now wants to achieve a seamless exchange of information across the enterprise.

Availity senior vice president and chief revenue officer Jeff Chester said that the company’s solutions go beyond standard clearinghouse capabilities to address problems specific to the claim and payment phases of hospital and integrated/networked physician practice reimbursement, reducing the need – and cost – to implement and manage disparate solutions.

Serving the communities of southern Indiana, south-eastern Illinois and western Kentucky, Deaconess Health System includes six hospitals, over 20 primary care locations and several speciality facilities.
