US-based healthcare provider University Hospitals (UH) has expanded its partnership with Premier in a bid to improve the health of communities in north-east Ohio.
The expansion of the relationship with Premier will enable UH to implement new data analytics and tools across its enterprise in order to cope up with changing healthcare models.
As part of the expanded partnership, the hospital will make use of Premier’s cloud-based data warehouse and business intelligence platform, ‘PremierConnect Enterprise’, for efficient processing of clinical, financial and operational data.
PremierConnect Enterprise includes advisory services and membership in the Data Alliance Collaborative, which now includes eight major US health systems.
University Hospitals Accountable Care Organisation president Eric Bieber said: "At the centre of our strategy to improve population health is turning raw data into actionable business intelligence.
"This overarching partnership allows for a clearer picture of potential opportunities with the flexibility to make the right connections, and quickly find and implement efficient solutions.

The partnership will also enable UH to continue its use of Premier performance services for another eight years across its enterprise.
With the new agreement, UH will now have a full suite of quality, safety, labour and supply chain performance improvement software, services and solutions.
The agreement also comprises advisory services and membership in data-driven collaboratives of providers, including QUEST for quality improvement and PACT to support value-based care delivery.
Furthermore, UH has extended an agreement with Premier to use its supply chain services for another three years.
UH operates a network of 11 hospitals at 12 locations, 26 outpatient centres and primary care physician offices in 15 counties across north-east Ohio, US.
