NextGen Healthcare, a healthcare technology solutions provider, and OSIS, a non-profit technology services organisation, have announced an enhanced strategic partnership aimed at optimising technology for federally qualified health centres (FQHCs) and community health centres (CHCs) in the US.

This will improve patient outcomes and government compliance.

OSIS has been using NextGen Healthcare as its electronic health record (EHR) vendor since 2007 and represents over three million patients across more than 500 locations in underserved areas in 35 US states.

The enhanced partnership will provide NextGen Healthcare clients with access to OSIS’s range of services, including consultations for uniform data system (UDS) compliance, clinical workflow optimisation, regulatory reporting, and annual HealthChecks conducted by OSIS experts.

The collaboration will focus on joint marketing efforts, thought leadership, and outreach to community centres across the US.

NextGen Healthcare CEO David Sides said: “As more people rely on community health centres for essential care, it’s vital that these centres are equipped with cutting-edge technology and secure the funding necessary to thrive.

“At NextGen Healthcare, our partnership with OSIS empowers these centres to deliver on the promise of better healthcare outcomes for all, ensuring that every patient receives the quality care they deserve.”

Funded by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), OSIS is a health centre controlled network (HCCN), which offers NextGen Healthcare clients free services tailored to FQHCs.

OSIS CEO Jeff Lowrance said “NextGen Healthcare is a proven leader in the community healthcare space and a trailblazer in UDS modernisation.

“Through this relationship, we hope to unlock the power of health IT investments with data-driven insights, improve quality scores, and minimise costs.”

The partnership will be highlighted at NextGen Healthcare’s annual user group meeting, UGM 24, in Nashville, Tennessee, from 27-30 October 2024.

The event will feature sessions on UDS+ Clinical Quality Measures and Value-Based Care Solutions, as well as tips for conquering UDS+ reporting challenges.

Community Health and Emergency Services, an OSIS member since 2012, CEO Kanci Houston said: “The partnership between OSIS and NextGen Healthcare is a significant advancement for community health centres across the US, helping them optimise technology and streamline government funding requirements.

“Working with partners that understand the needs of health centres and allow us the ability to more closely focus on patient care has been essential for our continued growth and filling needs in our community.”
