Community Health Systems (CHS) subsidiary Northwest Urgent Care, based in Tucson, Arizona, US, has entered an agreement for the acquisition of ten urgent care centres from Carbon Health.
Financial terms and other details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
The acquisition of these ten healthcare sites in Arizona is expected to be finalised in the fourth quarter of this year.
Northwest Urgent Care operates within Northwest Healthcare’s comprehensive healthcare network, which caters to Tucson and the neighbouring communities.
The latest move is part of Northwest Healthcare’s strategy to expand the existing capacity of its integrated healthcare network.
It will increase the network’s capacity, bringing the total number of sites of care to more than 80.

These investments also include the establishment of two new hospitals, Northwest Medical Center Sahuarita and Northwest Medical Center Houghton.

Carbon Health, the seller in this transaction, is a health technology company that aims to streamline access to healthcare.
It provides modern healthcare services through its patient app, electronic health record platform, and locations offering urgent and primary care services.
CHS operates a vast network of healthcare services, with its subsidiaries that own or lease 70 affiliated hospitals comprising over 11,000 beds. It manages more than 1,000 care sites across 15 US states.
These include physician practices, freestanding emergency departments, urgent care centres, occupational medicine clinics, cancer centres, ambulatory surgery centres, and imaging centres.

“Last year, they provided medical care for more than 845,000 encounters, and the acquisition of these ten urgent care centres will make the network’s impact even stronger.”
