Indoor location technology provider Pointr has won a contract from UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital in the US to provide mapping and wayfinding technology for smartphone and web applications.
For UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital, which is the only adult academic medical centre in the Rocky Mountain region, Pointr will provide its solution that will cover more than 60 floors across multiple buildings.
Designed to guide patients and visitors throughout the campus and its buildings, the solution will make use of Pointr’s fully integrated mapping, outdoor/indoor navigation platform and tie-ins with an electronic health records (EHR) system.
The wayfinding technology will give turn-by-turn directions to users from their home to the parking area which is close to their destination and from the parking lot to the desired indoor location.
Additionally, UCHealth’s My Health Connection appointment system will enable patients to receive directions through the app without having to search for their destination manually.
Pointr CEO Ege Akpinar said: “We are excited to provide UCHealth’s patients, employees and visitors an enhanced user experience with intuitive maps and wayfinding in the palm of their hands.
