Singapore’s latest integrated healthcare facility, Woodlands Health (WH) Campus, is now open to the public, providing enhanced access to acute hospital services for local residents.

The milestone was marked by an official opening on 13 July, officiated by Singapore’s Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Spanning approximately 7.66ha, the new WH campus aims to become a pivotal health hub for the northern region, equipped to fulfil both the current and future healthcare demands of its residents.

The campus includes a 1,000-bed integrated acute and community hospital and a Medical Centre hosting specialist clinics.

Additionally, the campus features nearly 400 beds at the Long Term Care Tower, which incorporates a Nursing Home and Senior Care Centre operated by Ren Ci Hospital.

The Campus integrates with the 1.7ha Woodlands Healing Garden, overseen by the National Parks Board.

WH currently oversees a total of 460 acute and community hospital beds, offering a wide spectrum of care services across major healthcare disciplines, from critical to community care.

WH, serving as an integrated healthcare campus, also employs a multi-disciplinary approach to provide specialised medical care, utilising new clinical advancements and facilities.

The campus will provide standard services, such as managing acute emergencies, rehabilitation, and recovery, as well as long-term care options, including home care, daycare, nursing care, and palliative care.

This integrated approach facilitates efficient patient placement and ensures seamless transitions from treatment to recovery, all within a single location.

Hsien Loong said: “I am very happy to join all of you today for the official opening of Woodlands Health. I know that residents here have been eagerly anticipating, looking forward to today’s opening. Because residents of Woodlands, Sembawang, Choa Chu Kang, and nearby areas, will now have more convenient access to acute hospital services.”

The inauguration of WH is one of the key efforts of the Singaporean Ministry of Health to enhance national healthcare capacity and accessibility.
