Surgical Information Systems (SIS), a company in clinical surgical software for ambulatory surgery centres (ASCs), has acquired Surgical Notes, a provider of ASC-focused revenue cycle management (RCM), transcription, and coding services.
This move is a strategic effort to bolster SIS’ mission to support ASCs in achieving clinical, operational, and financial success through smart operations.
The acquisition comes as many ASCs are outsourcing RCM due to staffing challenges and the increasing complexity of billing processes.
SIS’s emphasis on RCM solutions will be enhanced by Surgical Notes’ expertise in billing, coding, and transcription.
The acquisition will allow SIS to offer a broader range of cost-effective solutions specifically designed for surgery centres.
SIS has reported a five-year average annual growth of nearly 20% in its existing RCM business, indicating a rising demand for revenue cycle and related services within the ASC market.
