By GlobalDataAccording to STRABAG, the hospital’s layout will be split into two main sections, including North and South, separated by a central road that will be converted into a verdant boulevard.
The hospital’s northern area will house a new training centre, an infectious diseases building, administrative offices, as well as space for parking.
Besides, the southern section will see the construction of an 11-storey main building featuring an x-shaped design atop a base and spanning a gross floor area of 91,000m².
STRABAG CEO Klemens Haselsteiner said: “We are extremely pleased to have been awarded this complex turnkey project in our neighbouring country. It is an opportunity for us to demonstrate our innovative technological expertise with our local teams.”
The construction company stated that it is implementing LEAN Construction principles and Building Information Modelling (BIM) to optimise the construction process for the hospital.
F.D. Roosevelt University Hospital has selected architectural company SIEBERT + TALAŠ to oversee the entire planning and design related work of the project.
SIEBERT + TALAŠ is also a consortium partner, responsible for planning and design aspects during the construction phase, STRABAG added.
