Stryker has announced the launch of the ProCeed hospital bed, a new product designed to simplify operations while enhancing patient care in hospitals across numerous regions.

This launch comes at a critical time when healthcare facilities are grappling with nursing shortages and increased staff turnover.

In recent years, turnover among nursing staff has risen, with a substantial proportion of frontline nurses worldwide contemplating leaving their positions.

The ProCeed hospital bed is engineered to withstand the rigorous demands of healthcare environments and to offer a clean and durable solution.

Stryker Acute Care business vice-president and general manager Scott Sagehorn said: “As we designed ProCeed, helping keep clinicians and patients safe while allowing for an efficient and easy-to-use platform was key.

“Launching a bed that meets the needs of staff and patients in these markets will help deliver consistent and quality care.”

The bed incorporates several design features aimed at enhancing patient safety and caregiver comfort.

Its low bed height facilitates patient mobility and minimises the risk of fall-related injuries.

Additionally, the inclusion of a fifth wheel at the bed’s core assists in reducing the initial push force required to move the bed, helping to prevent back injuries among caregivers.

ProCeed is also available with two different headboard designs to cater to varying clinical needs and preferences.

One among them remains stationary as the bed frame tilts, while another features a mobile headboard that tilts, raises, and lowers as the frame adjusts into various positions.

Stryker’s portfolio, which helps enhance patient and healthcare outcomes, spans MedSurg, Neurotechnology, and Orthopaedics.
