Patient relationship management company TeleVox has secured a national group purchasing agreement for artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots with Premier.

The agreement offers Premier members special pricing and terms pre-negotiated by Premier for TeleVox’s SMART Web, SMART Voice and SMART SMS powered by Iris, the conversational AI virtual agent for healthcare.

Iris was introduced last year with the aim of setting a new standard for conversational virtual assistants.

The platform enables self-service opportunities and answers a wide range of enquiries without requiring custom content development.

If necessary, it can connect spatient to the appropriate staff via chat, while its omni-channel capabilities allow it to meet patients wherever they are.

Designed to provide a seamless patient relationship management experience, Iris can be integrated with existing electronic health records (EHRs) or implemented as a standalone solution.

TeleVox head of channel partnerships Steve Ganjoo said: “This agreement extends the reach of Iris, our industry-leading conversational AI platform, to thousands more hospitals and healthcare facilities around the country.

“We welcome the opportunity to showcase to Premier members how Iris can ease the burden on healthcare staff and foster better relationships between providers and patients.”

Based in North Carolina, Premier aims to provide healthcare and outcomes at lower prices with integrated data and analytics, collaboratives, supply chain solutions, consulting and other services.

The company works with almost 4,350 US hospitals and 325,000 other providers and organisations.

In September this year, CareView Communications secured a national group purchasing agreement for virtual care solutions with Premier.

The agreement enables Premier members to access special pricing and terms for CareView’s virtual sitting, nursing, and software and hardware solutions.

Premier was also chosen by AllSpire Health GPO to be its primary national group purchasing organisation (GPO) in August, supporting more than $3.5bn in annual purchasing volume.

The collaboration involves around 12,200 licensed acute beds and 54 acute care hospitals transitioning to Premier GPO members.
