US-based healthcare services provider Valley Health System has launched a Glaucoma Center of Excellence at Valley Medical Group ophthalmology practice in New Jersey.
The facility is located at 1200 East Ridgewood Avenue and is led by ophthalmologist Tanya Fooks.
The centre aims to provide robust diagnosis and treatment for patients suffering from glaucoma, a condition known for damaging the optic nerve and potentially causing vision loss or blindness.
As timely interventions can significantly reduce the risk of vision impairment, the facility will focus on consistent monitoring and timely introduction of medical treatments to protect patients’ sight.
Glaucoma can affect individuals of any age, although it is more prevalent among older adults.
The Glaucoma Center of Excellence is equipped to handle advanced cases, offering both traditional and minimally invasive procedures.
