Versiti Blood Center of Ohio has acquired Solvita Blood Center, formerly known as Community Blood Center, expanding Versiti’s operations in Ohio, US, to address urgent healthcare needs in the region.
This move underscores the commitment of both organisations to serve the Dayton area and its surrounding communities with essential blood health resources.
Since 2019, Versiti has been a key supplier to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, providing over 60,000 blood products annually to meet patient needs.
Versiti president and CEO Chris Miskel said: “The critical need for a steady and reliable blood supply for area hospitals, health care partners, and patients is at the forefront of our non-profit mission.
“Guided by Solvita’s strong reputation for community impact, we are excited to expand Versiti’s blood donation services to the generous donors of Dayton and its surrounding communities.”
The acquisition is specific to Solvita Blood Center, with Solvita retaining its global tissue services operations in Dayton and Kettering Research Park.
