Australian medical imaging software provider Pro Medicus has renewed its contract with non-profit health system Mercy Health through its US subsidiary, Visage Imaging.
Valued at a minimum of A$98m ($66.57m), the eight-year agreement both extends the contract term and increases the cost of the services provided for each transaction.
The contract covers the use of Pro Medicus’ Visage 7 Viewer and Visage 7 Open Archive.
The Visage 7 Open Archive is designed for interoperability and cacheless architecture, with the aim to enable rapid data retrieval and support tiered storage architectures.
This feature is crucial for healthcare providers as it enables efficient data consolidation strategies without compromising performance or user experience.
Pro Medicus’ Visage 7 suite includes the Visage 7 Open Archive and is designed to offer an ultra-fast and scalable platform suitable for both public and private Cloud environments.

By GlobalDataPro Medicus CEO Dr Sam Hupert said: “The industry norm for renewals is for short extensions to the original contract at the same or lower price.
“The fact that Mercy has renewed for a longer contract term and at an increased price shows confidence in our offering and reinforces our belief that the Visage solution delivers unparalleled value in terms of both financial and clinical return on investment.”
Founded in 1983, Pro Medicus provides software and services to imaging centres, hospitals and healthcare groups worldwide.
The company offers a comprehensive suite of solutions, including Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and e-health solutions.
It acquired Visage Imaging in January 2009 in an effort to expand its operations in the medical imaging field.
Mercy Health is a Catholic healthcare network that serves patients across Ohio and Kentucky, employing almost 35,000 colleagues across more than 600 points of care.
Earlier this year, the group completed a merger with health system SoutheastHEALTH.
