The Government of Western Australia (WA) has announced the signing of the final agreement with Aegis Health for the upcoming Murdoch Medihotel.
This new facility is set to enhance healthcare provision in the region by offering 80 beds for patients requiring ongoing care but not acute hospitalisation.

Murdoch Medihotel, once open, will be operated by the state government.
It will be situated in Murdoch Square, adjacent to Fiona Stanley Hospital, which is said to be the state’s largest tertiary healthcare institution.
Medihotel is part of the broader 1.2ha Murdoch Square development, comprising a variety of medical and commercial facilities and was officially inaugurated on July 29.
This integrated mixed-use development encompasses five buildings with a shared three-level basement car park.

A 30m patient access bridge connects the Medihotel to Fiona Stanley Hospital, and it is also adjacent to the upcoming A$1.8bn ($1.17bn) Women and Babies Hospital.
Western Australia Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson said: “It’s an exciting day for the Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct with the official opening of Murdoch Square and the State Government reaching a final agreement for the State’s new Medihotel.
“The Medihotel will provide a safe recovery alternative for appropriate cohorts who no longer need tertiary-level care. The Cook Government is committed to providing a greater range of health services to the people of Western Australia, and the Medihotel will do just that.”
