Indian IT company Wipro has entered a partnership with the Centre for Brain Research (CBR) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to drive forward research and development (R&D) in the field of precision health.  

This collaboration will utilise AI, machine learning (ML) and big data analytics to create new technologies to deliver precision support for the prevention and management of chronic health disorders.

As part of this alliance, Wipro’s R&D team, operating as part of Lab45, has been tasked with designing and developing a new personal care engine.  

This AI-driven system will consider individual health histories, behavioural responses, along with desired health states to promote healthy ageing and psycho-social well-being.

Wipro will collaborate with IISc’s non-profit, autonomous research organisation CBR to conduct a digital app-based trial to assess the engine’s effectiveness.  

This trial is expected to provide valuable insights into the engine’s capabilities and its impact on long-term health outcomes.  

The effort will leverage Wipro’s technological expertise and CBR’s expertise in brain science research to explore new opportunities in cognitive and overall health, as well as patient care.  

Together, they aim to develop systems that can offer improved health outcomes at a larger scale. 

Wipro chief technology officer Subha Tatavarti said: “Our personal care engine enables wide-ranging applications and benefits for health management. It has the potential to mitigate lifestyle-related conditions and even enhance cognitive and psychosocial functioning.”
