US-based non-profit health system AdventHealth has appointed Dr David Sinclair as the new CEO and president of AdventHealth Daytona Beach hospital campus in Florida.
This appointment comes as the 362-bed facility is currently undergoing a $220m expansion that will add more than 100 new inpatient beds, four surgical suites, and 240,000ft² of space.
On taking over his new role on 10 March, Sinclair will report to AdventHealth regional president David Weis.
Commenting on the appointment, Weis said: "Dr Sinclair is a relationship-builder and his deep knowledge and passion for taking care of our team and enhancing the access to quality care will serve our community well as he steps into this new role."
Sinclair joined AdventHealth in February 2020 and served in many clinical leadership roles, including as patient safety officer for the Central Florida division and chief medical officer at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs.
Since 2023, Sinclair has been serving as chief medical officer at AdventHealth Daytona Beach, where he is said to have played a role in achieving a 29% reduction in length of stay from 2023 to 2024 and an improvement in physician engagement.
Before joining AdventHealth, Sinclair held many leadership roles at the University of Miami Health System, where he acted as chief patient safety and quality officer and associate chief medical officer.

This appointment comes as AdventHealth announced Eric Lunde as the CEO and president for AdventHealth Fish Memorial.
Lunde previously served as the chief operating officer at AdventHealth Daytona Beach.
Earlier this month, AdventHealth acquired ShorePoint Health Port Charlotte and its associated services in Florida in a deal that brings more than 1,300 new team members.
