US-based non-profit healthcare network AdventHealth has opened a greenfield hospital in Riverview, Florida, to offer healthcare services to the South Hillsborough County community.
The 282,000ft² AdventHealth Riverview facility has 82 beds, with plans for expansion to 202 beds in future.
At present, 60% of the hospital's space is dedicated to patient care, with the remaining 40% reserved for future expansion to meet community needs.
The hospital's amenities include surgery rooms with mobile X-ray machines, a hybrid operating room, and the latest Da Vinci 5 surgical robotic systems.
A mother and baby unit is also part of the facility, featuring eight labour and delivery rooms and two C-section rooms.
The hospital provides a range of services, including emergency care, cardiology and various surgical specialities.
It has a laboratory and offers imaging and other ancillary health care services.
AdventHealth Riverview president and CEO Jason Newmyer said: “We are honoured to bring our unique brand of whole-person care to the Riverview community.
“Our investment of $263m in this state-of-the-art facility will be a beacon of hope and healing.
“We know that patients are more than the sum of their diagnoses, and our compassionate care focuses on healing that is centred on mind, body and spirit.”
AdventHealth Riverview is strategically located to reduce pressure on nearby hospitals and provide services to residents in Apollo Beach, Gibsonton, Lithia, Riverview, Sun City Center and Wimauma.
The hospital was built by Robins & Morton, with HuntonBrady serving as the architect.
Robins & Morton Florida manager Todd Watson said: “We are incredibly proud to celebrate the completion of this state-of-the-art healthcare facility, which stands as a testament to our longtime partnership with AdventHealth and our dedication to the well-being of our community.
“We look forward to seeing this hospital serve the healthcare needs of Riverview and its surrounding areas for generations to come.“
