Asian Institute of Gastroenterology unit AIG Hospitals in India has deployed the OS-Ultra high-speed digital pathology solution from OptraSCAN.

The latest development is part of AIG Hospitals’ strategy to bolster its pathology practices, ANI reported.

AIG Hospitals selected OS Ultra for optimising its diagnostic approach, facilitating advanced AI-powered analytics, streamlining workflows and boosting innovation in its pathology practices.

The hospital introduced the OS-Ultra scanner during the inauguration of its pathology department.

AIG Hospitals pathology director and chief Dr Anuradha Sekaran said: “Our primary objective is to deliver the highest quality diagnosis to our patients, and the adoption of OptraSCAN’s digital pathology solution is a significant step in that direction.

“It enables us to optimise workload distribution, facilitate instant specialist opinions, enable remote case reviews, and simplify tumour board joint reviews.

“OptraSCAN’s whole slide scanners are both affordable and efficient, providing excellent image quality.”

The 800-bed super specialty hospital provides advanced medical services and TelePathology services for remote assessment.

The facility also features a lab medicine department to carry out precise reporting round the clock.

OptraSCAN founder and CEO Abhi Gholap said: “We look forward to collaborating closely with AIG Hospitals and supporting them in their mission to deliver exceptional patient care.”

OptraSCAN provides digital pathology solutions, aiding healthcare groups to move from conventional glass slides to digitised images for improving diagnostics.
