Apollo Medical Holdings (ApolloMed), a technology-driven healthcare company, has formed a long-term alliance with multi-specialty medical group BASS Medical Group.

This collaboration with ApolloMed aims to strengthen BASS Medical Group's value-based care and operational infrastructure.

It will facilitate the participation of BASS Medical Group, which operates several locations across California’s Greater San Francisco Bay Area, in total cost of care arrangements and support the development of more effective care models by combining primary and multi-specialty care.

The partnership will further allow both ApolloMed and BASS Medical Group to enhance care delivery through value-based arrangements for patients with various insurance types, such as Medicare, Medicaid, and other commercial plans.

BASS Medical Group intends to shift its existing value-based agreements to this new alliance, with ApolloMed becoming the exclusive partner for all future value-based arrangements.

To implement this partnership, ApolloMed will roll out its value-based care platform and care enablement solutions to BASS Medical Group's network of over 400 providers and nearly 200 locations throughout Northern California over the next several quarters.

Furthermore, the tie-up includes plans for ApolloMed to work with BASS Medical Group's multi-speciality team to enter new markets and serve communities in Santa Clara and Alameda Counties, as well as to increase its presence in San Mateo, San Francisco, and Stanislaus Counties.

BASS Medical Group CEO Inez Wondeh said: “By joining forces, we are setting new standards in value-based care, ensuring that our healthcare delivery is not only efficient but rooted in the best interest of the communities we serve.”

Besides, to underscore its commitment to BASS Medical Group expansion, ApolloMed has provided a $20m senior secured promissory note to support the growth of the group’s footprint and investment in primary and multi-speciality care throughout California.

ApolloMed president and CEO Brandon Sim added: “We are excited to partner with Inez and BASS Medical Group to improve patient care across Northern California and beyond, focusing on delivering higher quality healthcare with greater access at lower costs.”
