US-based mental healthcare provider ARC Health has acquired Manhattan Psychology Group (MPG), a behavioural health practice serving the Greater New York City Metro Area.

The deal was facilitated by healthcare-centric M&A advisory Mertz Taggart and the financial terms have not been disclosed.

Established in 2011, MPG offers therapeutic services for individuals of all ages, specialising in mental health, behavioural and educational challenges.

The practice has more than 200 providers and offers comprehensive virtual and in-person support across various settings.

According to its website, MPG is a multi-speciality mental health and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) practice.

Its team of psychologists, neuropsychologists, behaviour analysts and special educators work together to provide quality services for individuals and families.

In addition, it provides ABA services with commercial health insurance coverage.

MPG's expertise includes diagnostic assessments, testing and evaluations for individuals with psychological, developmental and educational challenges.

The practice was founded in 2011 by Josh Rosenthal and Niloo Dardashti.

ARC Health CEO Vince Morra said: “Our partnership with Josh and Niloo and the integration of MPG into the ARC Health family will not only expand the scope and depth of services offered but also reinforces a shared dedication to excellence in mental healthcare.”

ARC Health operates as a collaborative network of mental healthcare practices.

The group is a portfolio company of Thurston Group, a private equity firm that focuses on building industry-leading companies in healthcare and related business services.

Earlier this month, ARC Health acquired GROW Counseling, a mental health group with multiple locations in Atlanta, Georgia.

Established in 2007, GROW provides a range of therapeutic services for various concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, trauma and addiction.

The acquisition included the integration of the GROW Counseling Network, a platform that partners with employers to provide mental health support services.

Is it time for the healthcare sector to fully embrace the benefits of digitalization and AI?

Only a handful of approved therapeutic drugs are currently available for the treatment of ARF, all belonging to the solute carrier family 12 member 1 inhibitor. The clinical trial space in ARF consists of almost an equal mix of commercial as well as academic sponsors, with Iran and the US emerging as the key countries for conducting Phase III trials. While the current marketed drug space for ARF has only a handful of treatment options, currently available mid-to-late-stage pipeline drugs are likely to pave the way for a new treatment approach in the future.
