The Government of Arunachal Pradesh (GoAP) has entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Religare Care Foundation (RCF) to enhance healthcare in the Indian state, reported NewsVoir.

The MoU was signed in Itanagar in the presence of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Minister of Health Alo Libang, and other senior officials.

Facilitated by Religare's CSR arm, this collaboration aims to strengthen tertiary care health services in Arunachal Pradesh.

This initiative includes technical advisory support to the GoAP to address healthcare skill gaps and improve infrastructure.

The initial project under the MoU involves establishing a Centre of Excellence for Renal Sciences at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS).

The Center of Excellence is expected to deliver advanced healthcare services to individuals with kidney disorders.

Additionally, it will facilitate research and training initiatives aimed at enhancing the standard of care available to kidney patients within the state.

Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu said: “The memorandum of understanding is a step forward to fulfil the vision of providing affordable, accessible and equitable health care services to the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

“It is an endeavour of the government to bring the best of the tertiary health care services near to home thereby reducing the cost and also the psychological trauma the family has to go through for seeking such medical care.

“By joining hands with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Religare group, we look forward to bringing about changes that positively impact the lives of the people and also the entire Health care landscape of the State.”
