This collaboration allows Bend Health's services to be accessible to all Evernorth clients and Cigna Healthcare customers.

US-based virtual paediatric mental health care provider Bend Health has joined forces with Evernorth's Behavioral Health Network, making its coaching, therapy, and psychiatry services available as in-network benefits.

Evernorth Health Services is part of The Cigna Group and provides pharmacy, care, and benefits solutions.

This collaboration allows Bend Health's services to be accessible to all Evernorth clients and Cigna Healthcare customers who have health coverage through their employers or marketplace exchange plans.

Bend Health offers expert care through advanced technology and a clinically validated care model.

Its coaching service helps kids, teens, and caregivers build resilience by addressing everyday challenges and mental health concerns.

The company's practitioners use measurement-based care, similar to monitoring blood pressure for hypertension, to tailor interventions for quicker improvement.

If more intensive care is required, therapy and psychiatry can be added to the care programme.

Bend Health provides support for mental health issues, from everyday stress to severe conditions such as obsessive-compulsive disorder and trauma.

They use virtual video visits, chat messaging, and integrated digital experiences to help kids, teens, and caregivers with the skills needed for long-term mental health resilience and wellness.

Care teams benefit from technology that tracks patient progress.

The company recently secured funding and has raised $32m from investors.

Bend Health is in-network in select states and serves more than 250 million individuals through various health insurers.

Patient consumerism is gaining momentum

Healthcare is evolving from a ‘doctor knows best’ mentality to a patient-doctor relationship where the patient takes an active role in making informed healthcare decisions. Patients can have more of a say in their healthcare decisions because they have access to information through various means, including the literature, the internet, and more recently, different types of connected medical devices. With the rise of mobile health applications, wearable technologies, and telemedicine, patients are well-situated to gain medical information, and ultimately make the best choices for their health.
