BetterMynd, an online mental health service provider for college and university students, has joined forces with psychiatry services provider Valera Health to broaden the mental health services available at partner campuses throughout the US.
This partnership aims to support the academic and personal well-being of college students.
Through this collaboration, BetterMynd's partner campuses will gain access to expanded services, including telepsychiatry and medication management, in addition to their existing teletherapy services.
BetterMynd CEO and founder Cody Semrau said: "Our mission at BetterMynd has always been to support the mental health and well-being of college students.
"Today, more students are requiring additional treatment options that many campuses simply don't have the resources for, or where they are struggling to attract providers.
"Our partnership with Valera Health allows us to offer campuses even more options to meet the growing mental health needs of their students."
Valera Health claims that its choice was driven by its affordable and accessible virtual mental healthcare services.
The increasing demand for mental health support among college students has emphasised the importance of innovative solutions that offer timely access to quality care, the company noted in a press statement.
Valera Health chief strategy officer and co-founder Dr. Thomas Tsang said: "Over the past few years, the number of college students in need of mental healthcare has skyrocketed.
"We look forward to working with BetterMynd to provide long overdue care for these underserved students."
