Ireland-based private healthcare provider Bon Secours Health System has chosen to implement the MEDITECH Expanse platform for digital transformation.

The move involves replacing multiple platforms and paper-based documentation with a unified electronic health record (EHR) system for enhanced patient care, safety, and efficiency.

The EHR project has been named "BonsConnect".

By implementing Expanse, Bon Secours Health System aims to seamlessly integrate clinicians, specialities, and operations.

The Expanse platform is designed to cater to the evolving digital landscape in healthcare, enabling care across various settings, designing cloud-based systems for improved outcomes, and offering personalised mobile solutions to enhance efficiency in healthcare workflows.

The health system also plans to implement Expanse Oncology, a speciality-specific outpatient solution that offers streamlined workflows, decision support, and mobile access to patient data.

The health system has announced the creation of 30 new job positions to support the digital transformation, with further expansion anticipated in September.

Bon Secours Health System treats more than 300,000 patients annually across its five acute hospitals and Care Village.
