Cedars-Sinai is introducing a mobile app called Cedars-Sinai Connect, which provides California residents with convenient access to healthcare experts without the need to leave home or the office.

This virtual healthcare service can be accessed round-the-clock for urgent problems and same-day primary care appointments, cutting down wait period.

The app leverages AI technology developed by K Health to streamline clinical intake and data entry, allowing physicians to focus more on patient care.

K Health's platform uses medical knowledge and patient experiences to help manage acute, chronic, and preventive care needs.

This app is the result of a joint venture between K Health and Cedars-Sinai and offers patients an expanded treatment options through virtual care providers.

Its chat feature collects health information and symptoms from users, presenting it to clinicians for review, simplifying the intake process.

Following the guided intake, patients can opt for a video call appointment with a clinician.

Cedars-Sinai medical network chief medical officer Caroline Goldzweig said: “Patient care plans and visit information are integrated into the Cedars-Sinai health record, making it easy for patients to move between online and in-person care in a coordinated way, and for patients to access our broader network of specialists when needed.

“This new platform will help us expand and enhance care for patients across California.”

Cedars-Sinai Connect accepts all insurance types that Cedars-Sinai accommodates, including employer-provided plans, according to a press statement from Cedars-Sinai.
