Comprehensive Healthcare at Home (CHAH) has launched Vision AI Care in partnership with Chooch, a software company specialising in AI-powered computer vision.

The AI-powered solution integrates Chooch's AI models with applications tailored to Canada's healthcare sector, aiming to enhance patient care and offer home-based healthcare in Canada.

Vision AI Care is designed to detect early warning signs of falls, injuries or health complications through real-time camera monitoring and analysis.

This capability is particularly beneficial for seniors and individuals recovering from medical procedures, supporting them within their homes.

The technology complements existing homecare programmes and allows clinicians to trial programmes that bring hospital and long-term care ward functionalities into home settings, thereby increasing healthcare capacity.

Chooch CEO Anubhav Saxena said: “Vision AI is rapidly becoming an indispensable tool in healthcare.

“Globally, we've witnessed how real-time AI insights have improved patient care and operational efficiency.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with CHAH Technologies to drive the expansion of this transformative technology in Canada.”

Vision AI Care aims to address a range of challenges faced by the healthcare system, including widespread staffing shortages.

The technology is designed to relieve some of these pressures by enhancing the quality of home healthcare services.

CHAH CEO Robert Stanley said: “Comprehensive Healthcare at home combined with Vision AI Care represents a paradigm shift in home healthcare.

“By utilising the power of AI to predict, detect, and alert healthcare professionals to potential risks, we can significantly enhance patient outcomes.

“This reduces the frequency of emergency room visits and hospitalisations, freeing up much-needed long-term care capacity.

“Most importantly, it allows us to provide care where 96% of Canadians prefer to receive it – in the comfort and safety of their own homes.”
