US-based non-profit health system Christus Health has partnered with public safety provider Axon to equip hospital security officers with Axon Body 3 body-worn cameras.
The cameras will be deployed to security officers across more than 60 acute care health centres, along with licences for Axon's digital evidence management system.
CHRISTUS Health Security and Public Safety vice-president Roy Alston said: “By leveraging Axon body-worn cameras, we are confident that we have the adequate technology and resources to deter and de-escalate incidents, with the goal of making CHRISTUS Health the safest place of care in the communities we serve.”
By equipping its security team members with body cameras, CHRISTUS Health aims to promote a safer environment for patients, staff, and visitors, as well as prevent workplace violence.
This collaboration highlights Axon's dedication to delivering value to commercial enterprise security customers, including healthcare systems.
Axon key account director Brandon Templeton said “We are excited to partner with CHRISTUS Health, an innovator in the industry, as they deploy Axon Body 3 cameras and Axon Evidence across their network of centres.
“Through this deployment, CHRISTUS Health is demonstrating their commitment to keeping their centres safe and positioning themselves as leaders within the evolving security landscape.”
