US-based rehabilitative healthcare provider ClearSky Health is set to establish a new medical rehabilitation hospital in Rockwall County, Texas, US.
This 36-bed hospital will deliver specialised rehabilitative care to patients recovering from a range of injuries and illnesses, including brain injuries, strokes, Parkinson's disease, spinal injuries, hip fractures, and multiple sclerosis.
It will also provide rehabilitative care services for other medically complex conditions, such as COVID-19.
The hospital is expected to treat more than 650 patients each year and create around 100 new jobs in the region.
It will have an interdisciplinary healthcare team, comprising physicians, case managers, dietitians, rehabilitation nurses, healthcare professionals as well as physical, occupational, and speech therapists.
Spanning 45,000ft², the new hospital will include a rehabilitative gym equipped with specialised equipment, an outside therapeutic courtyard, private rooms and a dining room, where meals will be prepared by a dedicated chef and service staff.
Patients will also benefit from one-on-one therapy sessions.
ClearSky Health CEO Darby Brockette said: “By not having to travel out of town for rehabilitation services, patients and their families will experience less logistical concerns, financial burdens, and emotional stress.
“We include family members and caregivers in the recovery process with the patient's permission. Their input and participation are important—from helping the patient set care plan goals to being educated on how to provide continued support after discharge.”
Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, ClearSky Health has a portfolio of 12 medical rehabilitation hospitals across several US states, while five more centres are currently under different planning stages.
In April last year, ClearSky Health announced plans to open its 15th medical rehabilitation hospital, a 36-bed facility in Wisconsin, US.
Once open, the hospital is expected to treat more than 650 patients each year.
