CMR Surgical, a UK-based surgical robotics company, has partnered with Norwegian software company Ledidi to develop a platform to host its clinical registry.

This partnership aims to strengthen the robotics company’s focus on data-driven clinical practice, emphasising its role in improving care quality and patient outcomes.

It also highlights the value of clinical registries in the adoption of robotic surgery across various specialties.

CMR's clinical registry, which encompasses over 8,000 surgical cases from gynaecology, colorectal, thoracic, general surgery, and urology, serves as a source for preclinical and clinical research.

The registry claims to facilitate collaboration between hospitals using the Versius surgical robot, offering insights into surgical procedures.

As part of the alliance, CMR will leverage Ledidi's platform to provide hospitals across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America with access to the registry.

The platform streamlines data capture and analysis, fostering multi-centre collaborations and enhancing the value of the clinical data.

This partnership will also focus on strengthening preclinical and clinical research, as the Versius Surgical System expands into a broader range of surgical procedures.

The Versius Surgical Robotic System, designed to fit into various operating room setups, offers surgeons the flexibility in port placement and the precision of small fully-wristed instruments.

It provides 3D HD vision, easy instrument control, and ergonomic working positions, aiming to reduce stress and fatigue for surgeons.

The system captures meaningful data through its digital ecosystem, supporting continuous learning and improvements in surgical care.
